International Scientific Conference Meeting HOLOEXPO2011 in Minsk BELARUS.

HoloEXPO2011 opening plenaryThe 8th annual International Conference HOLOEXPO 2011 took place this year in Minsk Belarus from 29 Sep until Oct 1st and as usually it attracted the interest of scientist holographers mostly from the CIS countries but also from the rest of the holographic world. During this Conference, a multitude of scientific papers were presented on the current developments in various holographic fields, an active exchange of views among holographers and scientists on the future of the technique took place and the latest achievements from various disciplines in holography were made public.

 

 

IMG 6949 resizeWith the opportunity of the World Exhibition of Display Holography organized in parallel to the Conference at the same venue (National Academy of Sciences of Belarus), some of the most prominent holographic scientists participated in this Conference aiming at a retrospective view of the development of Holography over the last 60 years with special mention to the Russian pioneer Yuri N. Denisyuk and various other important Soviet scientists.   

The Hellenic Institute of Holography was an honoured guest to this Conference, in which its Admin. Director Alkis LEMBESSIS and its Scientific Director Andreas SARAKINOS made a joint presentation of the current activities and progress level achieved in the fileds of digital and analog display holography in Greece, which was met by high acclaim from the conference participants.

The Conference took place in the Russian language with simultaneous interpretation in English whereas the various Papers and Minutes of the Conference have been published in a special commemorative edition.

The next HOLOEXPO2012 is planned to take place in the greater Moscow area in Nov 2012.
